Here at Complex, we love video games as much as the next dude. We bet money on ‘em, play together
on Xbox Live, talk shit over ‘em. But that’s really the extent of our fandom. After the console
goes off, we go about our lives. As you should. Because when that line between real life and fantasy
become blurred, shit can get hairier than Rosie’s upper

In the manner of a modern day fable on par with The Little Engine That Could or Rocky, Microsoft has
just announced that sales of the Xbox 360 have outraced total sales of the original Xbox, a mere two
days after the 360's third birthday on November 22.

After a couple of notable birthdays this week, and now the reflection comes to its triumphant
conclusion: Yesterday, the grandpappy of the big three, the Xbox 360, marked three years in
existence.

When there's a goof-up online, and a big run on DLC that a game maker wanted you to pay tons extra
to get, it's probably not a smart idea to go into that very same developer's official forums and
sound the alarm about it. Not once, but twice.

Virg's Xbox360 got the dread Red Ring of Death. He bought it in Feb '07, and it started failing this
Nov '08. He figured it would be months before he would get it back and expected to have to pay
somewhere. Much to his surprise, Sam's Club let him swap it out for a new one for free.

The New Xbox Experience, a.k.a. the new Xbox 360 Dashboard, hits tomorrow. If you've got an Xbox 360
that's connected to the internet, you're going to be prompted to update your console as soon as you
turn it on. No exceptions; this is what your machine will look like until either it dies, you die,

Sales numbers are hard to come by when it comes to the gaming industry; there is no public source of
information for what games and consoles are selling. The closest thing that the press has is the
monthly sales report from the NPD Group. These numbers are important, and every game blog on every
corner of the Internet publishes its take on what the

The hype has died down. The critics have answered. Copies sold have numbered in the millions. Has
Gears of War 2 lived up to the expectations of its fans? Not an easy question to answer. After all,
for every moment of the original Gears faithfully carried over, the needling feeling of some thing
more creeps in.

Here ya go, 15 minutes of direct feed Left 4 Dead footage. If this doesn't spark your interest, then
we really don't know what will. Perhaps Left 4 Dead paper hats and party streamers? Perhaps.

Gamers love to revel in competition, so these numbers should fuel quite a bit of heated (but civil!)
discussion. Working off of a series of graphs and slides that Nintendo demonstrated last Friday,
Gamasutra has put together an in-depth examination on everything from hardware sales for all three
consoles over the past three years, to a look at the
